Being the fifth largest Medical University in China, Dalian Medical University is located in the most modernized and international city in the north-east of China, Dalian. University was founded in 1947 as one of the key universities in Liaoning province. It occupies an area of 300 acres and encompasses 15 colleges, 26 teaching departments.
TEACHING CAPABILITIES
DMU is rich in education capabilities with the total number of teaching staff including doctors and nurses beyond 4000 among whom 300 are professors, 500 are associate professors. DMU is affiliated with "AAA+" level hospitals houses over 6500 patient beds for students to do their internships. The total numbers of enrolled students are nearly 12,000 in undergraduate and 1500 in Masters & PhD programs. Among them there are more than 1000 International students from 32 countries including students from India , Sri Lanka , Pakistan, Maldives, Nepal, Korea, Japan ,Ghana, South Africa, USA, etc., (Among them there are 80 Sri Lankans and 60 Maldivians)
RECOGNITION
Dalian Medical University is recognized internationally by WHO (World Health Organization), GMC-UK, ECFMG (USA), Maldivian Accreditation Board (MAB), Medical Council of India (MCI). It has established cooperative relationships with corresponding organizations in 22 countries and regions, with 70 Universities & Institutes around the world.
INFRASTRUCTURE
University occupies a spacious library equipped with a multimedia learning area, advanced electronic reading room and separate Hostel facilities for boys & girls within the campus premises itself. The food court also comes with multi - cuisine food including Chinese, Indian & Pakistani (HALAL) food.
LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION
The medium of instruction is English. Written work and examinations are conducted in English. From third year onwards coaching will be given for USMLE, PLAB & Special entrance examinations. Scholarships given for the students with special talents (Based on the performance at the University)
